Reviews aka I Got ‘Em

Lots of reviews of been up and about of late, and for those on here who don’t follow along to my every word on Examiner – and how dare you – here is a rundown on the latest.

Only Yesterday – The latest by legendary studio Studio Ghibli is in fact almost 30 years old. So that’s a thing. Additionally, Only Yesterday happens to be a genuinely great. Directed by animated master Isao Takahata (Grave of the Fireflies), it is a true must-see. Review is available here.

Rams – Also terrific is this Iceland picture about two brothers that are neighbors and nemeses. A slyly amusing picture with a rich emotional vein running through it. Review is available here.

Zootopia – Disney’s newest offering is sweet, funny and with a terrific, not mention well layered, message. If it’s short of special, that’s more a narrative issue. Review is available here.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot – And finally, Tina Fey’s latest is a reminder of her talent and her inability to pick great film projects. Oh well. Review is here for that one too.
