Pair of reviews up for this weekend, with the season ramping up and a half-dozen interesting films coming out each weekend.
The first big one is Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu, he of the much loved and despises Babel and Amores Perros. The movie signals the major return of Michael Keaton, who has still been doing solid work in smaller roles for a good while, as a once famous actor trying to reclaim his fame via Broadway. My take on it is up on Examiner like usual.
The new Gregg Araki movie also gets reviewed by yours truly. It features Shailene Woodley and Eva Green. It is about a young woman dealing with life after the disappearance of her mother. It is not good.
